¢ Legion Baseball MVPs: Jake Hoover and Tommy Fitzgerald have been named co-MVPs of the Lawrence Raiders. Other American Legion baseball MVP awards went to Daniel Parker (Mavericks), Travis Ice (Outlaws) and Hunter Scheib (Bandits). Matt Wingert earned the Al Ice scholarship and Cory Cooper the Louie Heinrich grant.

¢ Two Share JCG Title: Tom Dennis and Bud Stagg each fired a 76 to share the low score in Sunday’s Jayhawk Golf Club tournament at Alvamar. Neal Ezell carded a 78 and Bob Cohen an 81. In net scoring, Josh Williams was low with a 70, followed by Dean Hilker at 71. Tied for third, all with 74s, were Tim Grant, Keith Wallace and Pete Whitenight.

¢ Tumbling Placers: Kelsey Broadwell and Brittany Harrell of the Lawrence G-Force Jets finished fifth and 10th respectively in the double-mini at the National Power Tumbling championship in Houston, Texas. Harrell was also 10th in floor exercise.
