¢ Stone Hole-in-One: Rozi Stone used an 8-iron to ace the 90-yard No. 2 hole Aug. 10 at Alvamar Country Club. Witnesses were Gary Stone, Tom Knight and Jerry Slaughter.

¢ Phenix Tryouts Reset: Tryouts for Lawrence Phenix Fastpitch, rained out last weekend, will be Saturday at Haskell Indian Nations University’s softball field. U-10 will be at 8 a.m., U-12 at 10 a.m., U-14 at 12:15 p.m. and U-16 and U-18 at 2 p.m. Registration will be 15 minutes before each session. For information, call Becky Harper at 542-3542.

¢ Legion Baseball MVPs: Jake Hoover and Tommy Fitzgerald have been named co-MVPs of the Lawrence Raiders. Other American Legion baseball MVP awards went to Daniel Parker (Mavericks), Travis Ice (Outlaws) and Hunter Scheib (Bandits). Matt Wingert earned the Al Ice scholarship and Cory Cooper the Louie Heinrich grant.

¢ Topeka Baseball: Tryouts for the Topeka Top Guns, a U-15 summer baseball team, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the SCABA diamonds. For information, call Tom Price at (785) 633-7443. ¢ Two Share JCG Title: Tom Dennis and Bud Stagg each fired a 76 to share the low score in Sunday’s Jayhawk Golf Club tournament at Alvamar. Neal Ezell carded a 78 and Bob Cohen an 81. In net scoring, Josh Williams was low with a 70, followed by Dean Hilker at 71. Tied for third, all with 74s, were Tim Grant, Keith Wallace and Pete Whitenight.

¢ Tumbling Placers: Kelsey Broadwell and Brittany Harrell of the Lawrence G-Force Jets finished fifth and 10th respectively in the double-mini at the National Power Tumbling championship in Houston, Texas. Harrell was also 10th in floor exercise.

¢ Rebels Tryouts: Kansas Rebels baseball will hold 2006 season tryouts Aug. 27 at Holcom Complex. U-10 will be at 7:30 a.m., U-11 at 9:30 a.m., U-12 at 11:30 a.m., U-13 at1:30 p.m. and U-14 at 3:30 p.m. For information, go to www.kansasrebels.com.
