A few more sprinkles around the Lawrence area can't be entirely ruled out, but the sun should be breaking through the cloud barrier later this afternoon.

"Clouds continue to work across the state as we went through the overnight hours, but by the end of the day we should see some sunshine." said Tim Reith, 6News meteorologist.

"I do believe we'll see a lot more sunshine tomorrow than we will see today."

The humidity spiked by this weekend's rain is hanging about, but things should remain cool for the final few days before school starts.

At 7:56 a.m., Lawrence's temperature was 66, with winds out of the northeast at 7 mph. A high in the lower 80s is expected this afternoon after the clouds clear out.

Patchy fog might be a concern for commuters on Tuesday morning, but the mild temperatures should stick around for the rest of the week, with highs of 83 and 86 expected on Tuesday and Wednesday.
