Mandan, N.D. - Eden Prairie, Minn., rode a five-run third inning to a 12-8 triumph over the Lawrence Raiders this morning in the Central Plains American Legion baseball tournament.
Jake Hoover, the Raiders' starting and losing pitcher, went 3-for-5 with a double and a two-run homer. Outfielder Tyler Knight slugged a solo homer in the second inning. Leadoff hitter Brian Heere and third baseman Cory Cooper had two hits apiece.
Lawrence, 35-7, dropped into the losers bracket of the double-elimination tournament and will play again at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
