KANSAS CITY, KAN. ? Two people were killed and several others were injured when gunfire erupted early Saturday on the city’s east side.

Police said victims riding in a sport utility vehicle flagged down officers about 3:10 a.m. at Seventh Street and Kansas Avenue. Minutes later, there were reports of additional victims in a car near 39th Street and Rainbow Boulevard.

An investigation was ongoing late Saturday. Victims’ names had not been released.
