Lew Perkins has reached out to his former school to fill a new position within the Kansas University athletic department.
Larry Hare, director of equipment services at UConn for the past seven years, has accepted a similar position at KU, according to the Hartford Courant.
Hare will be in charge of a department that includes equipment managers Jeff Himes, Mike Hill and Ron Aulet.
Perkins was athletic director at UConn for 14 years before coming to Kansas in July of 2003.
