Jayhawks eliminated at Big 12 tennis event

? Kansas University’s tennis team fell to Colorado, 4-2, Thursday in a first-round Big 12 tournament match at the University of Texas courts.

The No. 11 seed Jayhawks (4-17 overall, 3-8 Big 12) earned singles victories from Elizaveta Avdeeva at No. 1 and Lauren Hommell at No. 5 against the sixth-seeded Buffaloes (11-11, 5-6).

“Even though it was a disappointing loss, I am happy with how the team competed today,” KU coach Amy Hall-Holt said.
