LCNS Benefit Runs: Lawrence Community Nursery School will stage To the River and Back benefit 5K and 10K runs May 7. The course will be through Old West Lawrence, downtown and along the Kansas River levee. Also scheduled is a family fun mile.   • FSHS Shooting Camp: Free State High’s basketball shooting camp will be May 31 to June 3. Youths in grades 4-8 are eligible. For information, call Jack Schreiner at 832-6050.
  • Rebels Runner-Up: Kansas Rebels U-12 baseball finished second at last weekend’s 3&2 tournament in Lenexa. Team members are Shane Pokorney, Ross Johnson, Dylan Perry, Josh Hoffman, Troy Willoughby, Clay Hamilton, Ty Hensley, Drew Sorrick, Jake Johnson, Matt Wade and Colin Toalson. The coaches are Rod Sharp and Mike Hensley.
  • Roesler Low: Chad Roesler shot a 66 and won Sunday’s Jayhawk Golf Club tournament at Alvamar by three strokes over Andy Stewart. Conrad Roberts and Mike Naegele tied for third place, each with a 75. In net scoring, Frank Lewis was low with a 58, followed by James Rudy 61, Patrick McCraney 64 and Gary Hamm 67.

  • Cardinals Champs: Eudora Cardinals U-12 baseball won a tournament at Blue Valley last weekend. Team members are Connor Scott, Reece Long, Coty Stoneking, Evan Cleveland, Casey Boone, Colton Lynch, Austin Vickers, Matt Schultz, Caleb Hines and Joel Lauer. Coaches are Mike Scott, Scott Vickers, Dale Boone, Dan Lynch and Jim Lauer.
