Men’s basketball adds Western Illinois to slate

Kansas University will play Western Illinois in men’s basketball next season.

The Jayhawks have contracted to play WIU on Dec. 3 at Allen Fieldhouse. It’s a one-year deal with no return game.

KU needs to find one additional opponent to complete the 2005-06 nonconference home slate. The Jayhawks will play Kentucky, Northern Colorado, Nevada, Pepperdine and Idaho State at the fieldhouse and California at Kemper Arena. KU also will play at Georgia Tech and against Saint Joseph’s at Madison Square Garden. KU will compete in the Maui Invitational with a field of Chaminade, Arizona, UConn, Maryland, Arkansas, Michigan State and Gonzaga.
