LCNS Benefit Runs: Lawrence Community Nursery School will stage To the River and Back benefit 5K and 10K runs May 7. The course be through Old West Lawrence, downtown and along the Kansas River levee. Also scheduled is a family fun mile. Heart of a Lion Camps: Lawrence High boys basketball coach Chris Davis will conduct several Heart of a Lion basketball camps this summer. The first camp will be June 6-10. Rebels Win: Kansas Rebels U-10 baseball won the Jump Start Tournament Saturday in Ottawa. Team members are Matt Baker, Jacob Caldwell, Garrick Clapp, Drake Hofer, Alex Green, Drew Green, Rigby McClure, Kyle McFarland, Adam Rea, Cody Scott, Stan Skwarlo, C.J. Stuever and Shane Willoughby. Coaches are Joe Caldwell, Darren McClure, Kevin Stuever and Mike Willoughby.

Kicking Camp at KU: Pro football Hall of Famer Jan Stenerud will be featured at the Midwest Kicking, Punting and Center Camp July 6-7 on the Kansas University campus. Anderson JGC Winner: Chris Anderson shot a 75 and won the Jayhawk Golf Club's weekly tournament Saturday at Alvamar Country Club by three strokes over Conrad Roberts. Chad Roesler was third with an 80. In net scoring, Rudy James was low with a 72, followed by Gary Neal, Jeff Miller and Mike Naegele, all with 73s.

Hauschild Titlist: Marvin Hauschild of Lawrence won the sportsman division of the HPT E.T. Bracket drag race series Sunday at Heartland Park Topeka. Hauschild drives a 1965 Mustang.

Gearhart Hole-in-One: Barb Gearhart used a 5-iron to ace the 123-yard No. 4 hole last week at the Orchards Golf Course. Betsy Joy was the witness.

Jones, Fernandez Medal: Abby Jones of Lawrence won a gold medal and Melissa Fernandez of Eudora a silver medal in the all-around at the USGA Level 9 gymnastics regional Sunday in Norman, Okla. Both qualified for the USGA Western Nationals May 6-8 in St. Louis.

FSHS Soccer Camps: Free State High soccer coach Jason Pendleton will conduct camps for youths in grades 9-12 May 31 to June 3 and for grades 3-8 on June 6-10. Kings Champs: The Lawrence Kings won the eighth-grade division of the Leavenworth MAYB basketball tournament. Paris Marathoner: John Huchingson, 64, of rural Jefferson County was among the 35,000 participants in the Paris Marathon, completing the event in a time of four hours and 28 minutes.

Sidewinders Advance: Lawrence Sidewinders won a U-12 national qualifier baseball tournament last weekend in Lenexa. Team members are Austin Anderson, Jackson Ferguson, Eric Watson, Rowan Cook, Jordan Parsons, Evan Manning, Sam Prososki, Tim Lewis, Trenton Sheppard, Mack Hartwell, Aaron Gile and Jonathan Pederson. Gold Cup Champs: Lawrence's Taylor Bussinger, Greg Glatz and Andrew Heck were members of the K.C. Comets U-15 soccer team that won the Gold Cup last weekend in Liberty, Mo.
