Norman E. Maddux, Lawrence

Services for Norman E. Maddux, 62, Lawrence, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Old Union Cemetery in Lawson, Mo.

Mr. Maddux died Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 21, 1942, in Excelsior Springs, Mo., the son of Cecil Claud and Beulah Ann Holman Maddux. He graduated from Buffalo High School in Missouri in 1960 and from Ozark Bible College with a bachelor’s in theology in 1968. He moved to Lawrence from Brazil 15 months ago.

Mr. Maddux was a missionary and teacher for 35 years in Brazil. He attended a house church in Lawrence.

He married Patricia Lou Golden on Aug. 14, 1962, in Vibbard, Mo. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include four sons, Daniel Lee, Belton, Mo., David Gary, Springfield, Mo., Stephen Harold, Joplin, Mo., and Nathaniel Ray, Lawrence; a daughter, Angela Rose Maddux, Lawrence; a brother, Lanny W. Maddux, Lawrence; and 12 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to the Norman Maddux Memorial Fund, sent in care of the mortuary.
