James Zundell ‘Jim’ Boyd, Lawrence

Services for James Zundell “Jim” Boyd, 64, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mustard Seed Christian Fellowship in Lawrence.

Mr. Boyd died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 11, 1941, in Coraopolis, Pa., the son of Marcus Sr. and Elizabeth Zundell Boyd. He graduated from Solbury School and received a degree in sociology from the University of Chicago.

Mr. Boyd worked as a toll collector for the Kansas Turnpike Authority. He was formerly an accountant with Dunbar Trucking and Excavating. He had also worked at KOA Campgrounds. He was a member of Mustard Seed Christian Fellowship, where he acted as media coordinator.

Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Traish, Washington, D.C.; two stepsons, Jeff Howard and Sam Howard; two stepdaughters, D’Ambra Howard, and Angela Reicherter; two brothers, David, Boston, and Marcus, West Palm Beach, Fla.; and ex-wife, Eileen Boyd.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of the mortuary.
