Sanctity tainted
To the editor:
So maybe lots of Kansas voters thought they were preserving “a sacred institution” when they supported the constitutional amendment. But they were wrong (Journal-World, April 11).
There is sanctity in marriage. The sanctity of love and lifelong public commitment. But that sanctity is tainted — and the import of marriage as an institution is imperiled — when it is made unavailable to people who are willing and able to attain it.
