Nina Marie Patterson, Lawrence

Mrs. Patterson died Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 3, 1923, in Melvern, the daughter of Harry and Nellie Ramsey Bebee. She graduated from Melvern High School in 1942. She later lived in California before she moved to Lawrence.

Mrs. Patterson worked for the Office of Vital Statistics in Topeka. She later worked at Alta Vista Post Office as a postal clerk for 15 years and retired in 1985. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lawrence.

She married Perry Q. Patterson on June 4, 1943, in Melvern. He died July 15, 2003.

Survivors include a son, Jim Patterson, St. Augustine, Fla.; a daughter, Shirley Patterson, Lawrence; a sister, Doris Greenfield, Melvern; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Council Grove Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church before the services.

The family suggests memorials to Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the chapel, 137 N. Union St., Council Grove 66846.
