One of the two likely will be left behind, however, following a three-game weekend series at Mitchell Park. Oklahoma has divided its first six league games while KU is 2-4.

KU coach Ritch Price will send left-hander Mike Zagurski (4-2, 4.06 earned-run average) to the mound in today’s 7 p.m. game and use right-hander Kodiak Quick (7-3, 3.51 ERA) in Sunday’s 1 p.m. contest.

Price will go with left-hander Sean Land (3-2, 5.40 ERA) in Saturday’s 2 p.m. game. Land replaces right-hander Clint Schambach (2-3, 5.02) who started the Saturday games in previous league series against Nebraska and Texas A&M.

KU has nine regulars batting over .300 led by freshman outfielder John Allman’s .366 average. Kansas also has 31 homers in 35 games and ranks third in the league in that category.

Junior outfielder A.J. Van Slyke paces the Jayhawks with 33 RBIs and six home runs. However, Van Slyke has struggled in Big 12 games, batting just .182 with four hits and four RBIs.

Junior Ryan Rohlinger leads the Sooners in batting average (.342) and shares the team lead in RBIs (25) and triples (2). However, in the last eight games, Rohlinger has struggled with just six hits in 29 at-bats.

The Sooners swept the Jayhawks at Hoglund Ballpark a year ago, winning 8-2, 5-4 and 5-2. OU (17-11 overall) is 13-2 at home this season.

All three KU-OU games will be broadcast on KLWN 1320.
