Corporate pro-am sponsorships still are available for the girls Lawrence Futures Golf Classic next month at Eagle Bend Golf Course.

Three levels are offered — Gold ($2,500 for eight players), Silver ($1,500 for four players) and Bronze ($300 for one player). All sponsorships include the “Meet the Pros” Party, grounds tickets, the pro-am tournament, corporate recognition and VIP hospitality access. Individuals also may participate in the pro-am for $250, which includes the party and the pro-am golf outing.

Lawrence landed the May 6-8 event after it was staged the last four years in Wichita.

“We have experienced great hospitality in Kansas over the years, and we look forward to the same warm welcome in Lawrence,” Zayra Calderon, CEO of the Futures Tour, said.

The tournament will feature a full field of 144 players with a $70,000 purse. The winner will receive $9,800 and the runner-up $7,000. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit local charities.

A junior clinic is scheduled for 4 p.m. May 5.

One of the 144 spots in the Classic will be reserved for a local golfer to be determined at an 18-hole qualifier April 17 at Eagle Bend. Applicants must have a USGA handicap of 6 or less and reside within a 100-mile radius of Lawrence.
