Karen ‘Denise’ Farris, Stafford

? Services for Karen “Denise” Farris, 55, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Stafford. Burial will be in Stafford Cemetery.

Mrs. Farris died Monday, April 4, 2005, at Hutchinson Hospital.

She was born July 15, 1949, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Wendell and Doris Babcock Thomas. She graduated from Buhler High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. She lived in Hutchinson and moved to Stafford in 1989.

Mrs. Farris worked for Hutchinson News and Harris Enterprise for 32 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She married Alva Farris on May 26, 1989, in Stafford. He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Lindsy Spain, Wichita; three stepsons, Ronni Farris, Turon, Kelly Farris, Spokane, Wash., and Ray Farris, Felix, Alberta, Canada; a brother, Randy Thomas, Springfield, Mo.; two sisters, Jona Albright, Arlington, and Cheryl Thomas, Lawrence; and five stepgrandchildren.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Minnis Chapel in Stafford.

The family suggests memorials to the Denise Farris Education Scholarship, sent in care of the chapel, 125 N. Main St., Stafford 67578.
