Charles ‘Chuck’ Dixon, Fort Scott

— Services for Charles "Chuck" Dixon, 81, Fort Scott, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel in De Soto.

Mr. Dixon died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at his home.

He was born Feb. 17, 1924, in Rosedale. He moved to De Soto in 1964 and later moved to Euma, Ariz.

Mr. Dixon served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a fourth-generation bricklayer and a member of the Masonic Lodge and De Soto Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

Survivors include a son, Bill, Elizabeth County; two daughters, Sheron Swearingen, Blue Rapids, and Debbie Vowell, Springhill, Fla.; three sisters, Virginia Kaneen, Eileen Welsh and Nadine Baker, all of the Kansas City area; and four grandchildren.
