Bramble services, Lawrence
Services for Sadie E. Bramble, 90, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Bramble died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.
She was born Dec. 1, 1914, in Sterling, the daughter of Everett E. and Floy Kilgore Crommett. She grew up in El Dorado and graduated from El Dorado High School in 1932, El Dorado Junior College in 1934 and Kansas University in 1936. She also had lived in Boston and Danvers, Mass. She lived in Lawrence from 1952 to 1962 and returned in 1969.
Mrs. Bramble worked in the cataloging department of Watson Library at Kansas University from 1969 until she retired in 1994. At the time of her retirement, she was the oldest Kansas Civil Service employee.
She married Albert F. Bramble on Sept. 5, 1937, in El Dorado. He died March 2, 2002.
Survivors include two sons, Fred Bramble, Tulsa, Okla., and John Bramble, Leavenworth; two daughters, Ruth K. Humphrey, Wichita, and Mary K. Brodahl, Bellvue, Colo.; a brother, Ralph Crommett, Seal Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Zelda Bisagno, Hornbrook, Calif., and Thelma Patterson, Placerville, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to First United Methodist Church or Hospice Care in Douglas County, sent in care of the mortuary.
