Highs climbing into the 80s today
Pull out your shorts and sandals — another summer-like day is in store for Lawrence, with temperatures soaring into the 80s.
“There’s great weather in the forecast,” said Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist. “If you enjoyed Sunday, with a high of 82, you’ll enjoy today.”
Latest forecastAt 7:15 a.m., the temperature was 55, with a southeast 13-mph wind making the wind chill 52, and mostly clear skies.
Today’s high is expected to climb to 83 by late afternoon, Schack said
The temperature will drop off tonight to a low of 60 by early Tuesday morning.
The weather pattern changes on Tuesday, bringing a bit cooler weather and a chance for rain, Schack said. Tuesday’s high will be 76 with a chance for isolated thunderstorms Tuesday night.
Wednesday’s weather will be mostly rainy and cool. Wedensday’s morning low will be 48, with the high reaching only 54 by Wednesday afternoon and a chance for showers the day, she said..
