Seahawks slip against Sumner

? Seabury Academy’s soccer team fell to Kansas City Sumner, 4-3, on Tuesday at Sumner’s field.

Gary Gardner, Yoo Sung Cha and Aaron Chung scored the Seahawks’ goals, while Myn Kyu Lee had three assists. Seabury, a Class 1A school, squared off against a 5A school in Sumner.

Sumner tallied the winning goal with just :20 to play.

“I can’t fault the heart of our kids,” Seabury coach Brian Clyne said. “Sumner is a very fast team. On defense they are one thing we’re not, quick. That hurts us a little bit. We played with 12. They had 20-some-odd players. We’re playing hard, working hard, scoring goals.”

Seabury (4-6) will play host Tuesday to DeSoto.
