The game: Colter fought through illness and had a spectacular showing against SM East despite limited duties. He carried the ball 17 times Thursday, compiling 168 yards, two touchdowns and two two-point conversions. Three of his rushes were for more than 15 yards, including a 63-yard touchdown run. Behind Colter’s quick legs, Lawrence won its first game of the season, 48-27.

The game: Against budding rival Tonganoxie, Woods was magnificent, rushing for 213 yards and two big touchdowns in Mill Valley’s 21-14 victory. His last score was made for SportsCenter, a 75-yard run where he juked two defenders and outran countless others en route to the end zone. Mill Valley has won three straight, and remain unbeaten in the Kaw Valley League.
