The bride-to-be graduated from Maize High School. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism at Kansas University. She works at the Lawrence Journal-World and Intrust Bank.

The future groom graduated from Rophenberg High School in Ramat-Hasharon, Israel. He received a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from KU. He is pursuing a doctorate in econometrics and finance at KU.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Lynn Belt, Lawrence, and Craig and Tammy Hogue, Wichita. She is a 1996 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 2001 graduate of Kansas University. She is public relations and marketing manager of Garrett Popcorn Shops in Chicago.

The future groom is the son of Marty and Cindy Alvarez, Helendale, Calif. He is a 1996 graduate of Victorville High School, Victorville, Calif. He is general manager of Garrett Popcorn Shops in Chicago.
