The downtrend continues for Journal-World Sports Editor Chuck Woodling in kusports.com’s Wanna Whack Woodling contest.

Woodling, who went 8-3 in the second week of the contest, fell to 7-3 last week, missing wins by Nebraska and Texas A&M and KU’s loss.

Danny Kennedy of Clay Center won last week’s contest with a 10-1 record. Kennedy tied two other participants, but came closest to correctly guessing the correct score of the KU-Northwestern game, picking the Wildcats to win, 21-14. Kennedy will receive a We Whacked Woodling T-shirt for his victory.

Along with the three 10-1 entries, 139 other participants defeated Woodling’s 7-3 mark. Forty-five contestants went 9-1, and 94 went 8-2. Woodling was tied with 106 entrants.
