Two injured in U.S. 40 collision
Emergency crews are on the scene of a head-on wreck this morning west of Lawrence on U.S. Highway 40 near the Kansas Highway 10 interchange.
One person was lifted from the scene by air ambulance. Another was taken by ground to Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
As of 9:45 a.m., both lanes of U.S. 40 are closed in that area, a Kansas Highway Patrol dispatcher said.
The wreck happened about 8:38 a.m. when a 1988 Honda collided with a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, officials said.
