Tamagonit Lodge of the Order of the Arrow in Heart of America Council had its Fall Fellowship Sept. 11-12 at the Theodore Naish Scout Reservation near Bonner Springs. Scouts participated in activities such as rifle shooting and wall climbing. They also worked on service projects. Officers for Tamagonit Lodge were elected, and the evening ended with a campfire, where the new lodge officers were introduced and the candidates for Vigil Honor were recognized.
Tyler Thomas, of Troop 62, chartered to the Linwood Lions Club, was elected secretary.
Troop 52, chartered to First Methodist Church of Lawrence, attended the event. Youth attending included Justin Deaver, Mason McCurdy, Will Sharp, Tristan Wagner, Nick Joseph, Peter Tuttle and Stevie Wilson. They were accompanied by adult leaders Bill Berkowitz, David Berkowitz, Mike McCurdy, Ralena McCurdy, Herb Tuttle, Wayne Deaver and Rod Zinn.
Mason McCurdy was named a Vigil Honor candidate.

Cub Scout Pack 3059, chartered to First Presbyterian Church in Lawrence, will have a meeting and parent orientation at 7 p.m. Monday in the church’s Fellowship Hall. The Pack primarily serves Schwegler and Wakarusa schools. Any boy who is interested in becoming a Cub Scout is welcome to attend the meeting along with a parent or guardian. Lawrence-area Webelos and their parents are invited to Webelos Woods Weekend today and Sunday. Scouts will celebrate the Lawrence sesquicentennial during the camp out.
The camp out will begin with registration at 9 a.m. today and an opening ceremony at 10 a.m. There will be 40-minute activity stations of archery, rope bridge building, first aid, cooking and fire building. Second-year Webelo Scouts will spend the morning canoeing before joining the rotation of activities.
An obstacle course relay race will involve all Scouts after the activities. Martha Parker, of the Clinton Lake Museum, will discuss area history before supper is provided. A campfire will end the day.
On Sunday, the Webelos will take part in a nondenominational worship service and a closing ceremony at 9 a.m. Boy Scout Troop 59, of Lawrence, will play host to the event and lead the activities. The cost is $12 per person. Each Webelo den provides its own lunch and Sunday breakfast. For more information, contact Bob Corkins, of Troop 59, at 220-2800.
