New York reaches WNBA playoffs
Uncasville, Conn. ? Crystal Robinson scored a season-high 22 points and paced a 12-0 run that helped the New York Liberty gain a playoff berth in the WNBA with a 69-66 victory Friday night over the Connecticut Sun. Robinson made seven of 12 shots, including four of New York’s nine three-pointers.

Phoenix — Alana Beard had 21 points and nine rebounds to help Washington lock up a playoff spot with a victory over Phoenix. Washington (17-16) has won five in a row and seven of 10 without All-Star Chamique Holdsclaw, who ended her season on Sept. 8 because of an undisclosed medical problem.
