Satomi.

Services for Motoi Satomi, 78, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Cremation is planned.

Mr. Satomi died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004, at his home.

He was born Nov. 12, 1925, in Pasadena, Calif., the son of Matsunosuke and Yea Hasegawa Satomi. He graduated from Pasadena Junior College and later attended Whitier College, Utah State University and Kansas University.

Mr. Satomi was a World War II veteran. He received a Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon and a World War II Victory Ribbon. He was a postal worker for 37 years before he retired.

He married Audrey Redmon on April 8, 1961. They later divorced. She died in February.

Survivors include a sister, Midori Odo; two sons, Keith and Ian; two daughters, Tina Satomi and Heather Satomi; four granddaughters; three stepdaughters, Joyce Gorst, Cindy Archer and Audanell Lester; 54 stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and until service time Monday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

The family suggests memorials to American Diabetes Assn., sent in care of the funeral home.
