Kris Kobach, 3rd Congressional District Republican candidate, will take part in a live online chat Monday on this Web site. The chat will begin at 1:15 p.m. Monday, but readers may submit questions early.

Kobach is running in the Nov. 3 election for the seat now held by U.S. Rep. Dennis Moore, a Democrat who is seeking a fourth two-year term.

Kobach, 38, served on the Overland Park City Council before spending three years in Washington working for the U.S. Justice Department.

An attorney and constitutional law professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Kobach is also representing students who are suing the state to strike down a new law granting lower in-state tuition rates to some illegal immigrant.

The 3rd District contains Johnson and Wyandotte counties and part of eastern Douglas County, including Lawrence east of Iowa Street.
