Police continue to investigate a stabbing discovered Wednesday night and have identified the victim as a 38-year-old Lawrence man.
They have made contact with one possible suspect, a 38-year-old male, but no one had been arrested as of this morning.
A Westar Energy employee discovered the victim about 10:36 p.m. at Sixth and Indiana streets with multiple stab wounds. The stabbing is believed to have happened in the 600 block of Mississippi Street.
The victim was flown by air ambulance to a Kansas City Hospital. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
A police spokeswoman said she didn't know whether a weapon had been recovered and could not comment on a possible motive.
