Deadline Friday for BOW workshop
Registration deadline is Friday for a Becoming an Outdoors Woman workshop Sept. 24-26 at Rock Springs 4-H Center near Junction City.
The workshop offers women a chance to learn about hunting, fishing, orienteering, backpacking, camping and boating.
The fee of $180 includes six meals and two nights in a cabin. The price is $175 if the two nights are spent in a tent. A total of 37 sessions are planned covering the gamut from recreational shotgunning to Dutch oven cooking.

Jayhawk Chapter of DU schedules fund-raiser
Jayhawk Chapter of Ducks Unlimited will hold its annual fund-raiser at 6 p.m. Thursday at Maceli’s.
Dinner will be followed by raffles and silent and live auctions. Tickets are $45 apiece or $65 for a couple. The ticket includes dinner at Maceli’s and a one-year membership in DU.
Tickets will be available at the door, and can also be purchased by calling Mike Grady at 843-7700.
