Penalty kicks lift Seahawks
Kansas City, Mo. ? The Seabury Academy boys soccer squad finished the Barstow Tournament with a thrilling victory over Independence (Mo.) Englewood Christian on Saturday.
The Seahawks tied Englewood 2-2 in regulation, but won 4-3 on penalty kicks.
Max Cannon, Peter Zemanski, Yoo Sung Cha and Gary Gardner knocked in PK’s to clinch the victory. Goals in regular time were recorded by Cannon and Aaron Chung.
“With the numbers we’ve got, playing a good second half is something I’m pleased with,” Seabury coach Brian Clyne said. “That’s the best second half of soccer we’ve played this season.”
Seabury (2-2) plays host to St. Marys on Tuesday at the Youth Sports Inc. fields.
