A standard 11-man football field measures 100 yards long and approximately 53 yards wide. An 8-man football field measures 80 by 40.

Olathe Northwest’s opening took hundreds of students away from Olathe North. Because of this, Olathe North dropped down to Class 5A for at least the next two seasons, despite the fact its football team won seven of the last eight 6A state championships. The Eagles still will compete in the Sunflower League.
