Elwood ? Seabury Academy’s volleyball team went 2-1 Tuesday at its season-opening quadrangular.

Seabury fell to St. Joseph (Mo.) Christian, 25-21, 22-25, 22-25; and defeated Kansas School for the Deaf, 25-10, 25-12, and Elwood-Wathena, 25-12, 25-17.

Junior Lindsey Ahlen was 37-for-40 serving with 23 aces. Sophomore Molly Thurman had 18 kills and two blocks and hit .400. Senior Laura Frizell was 17-for-19 serving and hit .500 while playing middle blocker with 10 kills.

Seabury will travel Tuesday to De Soto and also will face Bonner Springs and Maranatha.
