— Junior running back Kyle Rush rushed for 218 yards off 18 carries and scored three touchdowns in Wellsville's 35-8 Class 3A district-clinching victory over Central Heights.

Wellsville, 4-5 overall and 2-1 in the district, will play either Humboldt or Northeast Arma in a 3A state playoff game Tuesday at Wellsville.

"The offensive line did a nice job blocking for Kyle, who made some great cuts," Wellsville coach Bill Oshel said. "Our secondary stepped up. They wanted to throw it, but we kept them on track."

"We talked about doing our job. The kids were as focused as they were all year. The offense stepped up and defense buckled down."
