An overnight storm followed by patchy fog brought slick streets, reduced visibility for drivers and high humidity this morning throughout the Lawrence area.

Lawrence Municipal Airport reported 0.15 of an inch of rain from the storm, which passed through between midnight and 2 a.m.

“It’s going to feel kind of soupy out there,” said Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist. “We do have some low-level clouds and some patchy fog.”

However, the clouds were expected to thin out by this afternoon with temperatures climbing from the 60s this morning to a high of 76 by late afternoon. Winds will be from the south, 10 to 20 mph.

Friday’s morning low temperature will be 65, with the high reaching 78 by Friday afternoon, with south winds 15 to 25 mph and gusts up to 35 mph.

A few isolated thunderstorms are possible Friday afternoon in front of a cold front that will be coming through on Friday evening, Schack said. The National Weather Service says there’s a 30 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms on Friday.

Saturday morning’s low will be 45, with the high reaching 67 by Saturday afternoon, under mostly sunny skies.

Sunday’s Halloween forecast calls for mostly sunny conditions, with the high reaching 68. Sunday evening’s temperatures will fall to 59 for the trick-or-treaters.
