Scary Story Contest: Echo Craig

While baby-sitting the new neighbors for the first time, Katie answered the phone. All she heard was deep breathing. Quickly she put down the phone. It was the night before Halloween.

The kids and I lived in the country. There were four kids: Ethan 8, Emily 7, Shawn 6, and Scarlet 5. I on the other hand was a 16-year-old who could drive. All off a sudden the power went out. The two younger ones started crying, Ethan tried to comfort them. Boom … frightening music started playing.

I grabbed food, and told the kids to get in the car. They obeyed, and I got my stuff and left. All of a sudden a crazy lunatic jumped in front of the car! Now everyone was screaming. I tried to dial 9-1-1 but all I got out was 9-1. The mad man was trying to get in.

I put the car in reverse and drove. He jumped in a car and followed us ’till I got to the police station. He then disappeared somewhere after I turned on Oval St. I told them what happened but they did not believe me. So I called the parents. They said they where on there way home. I told them to meet me at my grandparents house. I told my parents about it. They said it may have been my Uncle Louie? After I went to sleep, my parents woke me up and said the neighbors where murdered. The police did not know who it was.
