Patricia Jo Townsend

? Services for Patricia Jo Townsend, 66, Parsons, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home, Parsons. Cremation will follow. Private burial will be later in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Parsons.

Mrs. Townsend died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004, at her home.

She was born March 12, 1938, in Parsons, the daughter of Albert Bryan and Geneva Evelyn Hearson Curtis. She grew up in Parsons and attended McKinley School and Parsons West Junior High School. She graduated from Labette County Community High School in 1956.

Mrs. Townsend lived in Salina and Topeka before moving in 1965 to Rochester, Minn., where she worked as a secretary. The moved in 1969 to Parsons, where a legal secretary for Jack Goodrich’s law firm for several years. She also worked as a secretary at Parsons Custom Products, Malone and Parsons Motors.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Parsons, Sunflower C.B. Club and Parsons Business Women’s Assn. She was a life member of Brown-Bishop Post No. 704 Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary of Parsons and president of the third district of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She married William G. Buske on Jan. 5, 1958, in Parsons. He died May 6, 1998. She married Dave Townsend on March 12, 1999, in Las Vegas. He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Ronald Blaine Buske, Charleston, S.C., Kevin William Buske, Winfield, and Steven Wayne Buske, Parsons; a daughter, Julie Ann Manweiler, Lawrence; a stepson, Ronald Joe Townsend, Quapaw, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Cindy Lou Stewart, Troy, Ohio, and Natalea Hile, Aschaffenburg, Germany; two brothers, Larry and Ron Curtis, both of Parsons; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and after the service Saturday at the VFW in Parsons.
