KU women tapped 11th in Big 12 preseason poll

? Texas has been picked to win its third consecutive Big 12 Conference women’s basketball title in a preseason poll of the league coaches, while Kansas University was picked 11th.

The Longhorns won the championship outright in 2003 and shared the title with Kansas State in 2004.

UT received 11 first-place votes (coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team) and totaled 121 points. Baylor was second with 107 points. Kansas State received the other first-place vote and finished third in the poll with 99 points, followed by Texas Tech in fourth and Oklahoma fifth.

Iowa State was sixth, Colorado seventh, Missouri eighth and Nebraska ninth. Texas A&M finished 10th, KU 11th and Oklahoma State 12th.
