Injury Accidents

  • A Lawrence teenager was injured when a 1996 Mercury she was driving Sunday overturned on Douglas County Road 442 about 3 miles west of Lawrence, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Ashley L. Howard, 15, Lawrence was treated and released at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, a nursing supervisor said. She was eastbound on County Road 442 when the car went off the edge of the roadway and she overcorrected, causing the car to overturn but land upright, the Highway Patrol report stated. The accident occurred shortly before 5 p.m.

  • A teenage boy was injured Sunday morning when a vehicle he was driving overturned about 6 miles south of Eudora, according to Douglas County dispatch records.

The boy was taken by helicopter ambulance to a hospital but it was not clear Sunday night which hospital.

The accident occurred about 7 a.m. near the intersection of East 2200 and North 700 roads. No other details were available Sunday.
