Ruby M. Hatton

Mrs. Hatton died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, at the Valley Vista Good Samaritan Center.

She was born on May 8, 1918, in Carthage, Mo., the daughter of John and Clara Eddy Kreighbaum.

She worked for Nye’s Flower Shop in Lawrence, where she lived with her husband for many years before moving to Wamego. She worked at Harmony Gardens Greenhouse in Wamego.

She was a member of the Medical Arts Pharmacy bowling team in Lawrence for 35 years. Mrs. Hatton was also a member of the Eagles and American Legion Auxiliaries.

She married Jess Willard Hatton on June 13, 1936, in Web City, Mo. He died July 16, 2003.

Survivors include a niece she raised, Cathy Williams, Lawrence; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A daughter, Barbara Jean Pope, died April 22, 1999.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at Campanella-Evans Mortuary, where the family will greet them from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The family suggests memorials to the Valley Vista Good Samaritan Center, sent in care of the mortuary.
