Barbara Kirkman

Bonner Springs ? Services for Barbara Kirkman, 75, Linwood, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Alden-Harrington Chapel in Bonner Springs. Burial will be in Mount Sidney Cemetery in Linwood.

Mrs. Kirkman died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

She was born Oct. 13, 1928, in Lawrence, the daughter of William and Clara Liebenow Henak.

Mrs. Kirkman was employed by Farmers Insurance in Overland Park. She was a member of Linwood United Methodist Church and belonged to several women’s Masonic-affiliated orders.

Her husband, Robert G. “Corky” Kirkman, died in 1973.

Survivors include a daughter, Glenna Michele Kirkman, of the home; a brother, Bill Henak, Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Betty Hoeykens, Kansas City, Mo., and Shirley Savage, Lawrence; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the chapel.

The family suggests memorials to Kirkman Grandchildren Educational Fund, sent in care of Commercial State Bank in Bonner Springs.
