Michael Wayne Sutton

? Services for Michael “Mike” Wayne Sutton, 43, Oskaloosa, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Living Water Evangelical Free Church in Oskaloosa. Burial will be in Ozawkie Cemetery.

Mr. Sutton died Friday, Oct. 8, 2004, at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., from injuries suffered in a work-related accident earlier in the day in Kansas City, Kan.

He was born July 19, 1961, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Robert Lee and Phyllis Lorene Roberts Sutton. He had lived in Oskaloosa since 1997.

He graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kan., in 1979.

Mr. Sutton worked more than 20 years as an equipment operator and laborer for Omega Concrete Systems in Kansas City, Kan.

He married Larinda Goodwin on Jan. 12, 1984, in Kansas City, Kan. They later divorced.

Survivors include his fiancee, Peggy Hopkins, Kansas City, Kan., who was to have married him Saturday; his mother, Phyllis, Edwardsville; a son, Josh, of the home; three daughters, Jennifer Sutton, Janet Sutton and Julie Sutton, all of the home; a brother, Robert, Edwardsville; four sisters, Brenda Garcia, Gladstone, Mo., Phyllis Salazar and Rebecca Hernandez, both of Kansas City, Kan., and Cheryl Romo, Edwardsville.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church in Oskaloosa.

Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa is in charge of arrangements.
