Ashley Benjamin has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. Benjamin is staff psychiatrist with the 9019th Air Reserve Squadron at the Air Reserve Personnel Center in Denver. He has 15 years of military service. He is the son of Bezaleel and Nora Benjamin, Lawrence.

The lieutenant colonel graduated in 1982 from Lawrence High School, and received a bachelor’s degree in 1986 from Kansas University. He earned a master’s degree in 1989 from Ohio State University and an additional master’s degree in 1993 from KU.
