Malcolm M. Simons Jr.

? Services for Malcolm M. Simons Jr., 88, Port Charlotte, Fla., were Sept. 25 at Allison United Methodist Church in Carlisle.

Mr. Simons died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, in St. Petersburg, Fla.

He was born July 9, 1916, in Mercer, the son of Malcolm M. Sr. and Ida Simons. He graduated from Lehigh University in 1938 and later did graduate studies in ornithology at Sweetbriar College and Cornell University.

He was a naval officer in the Pacific theater during World War II. He was CEO and president of Malcolm M. Simons and Son Inc. insurance company. He was a member of several ornithological societies and gave several lectures on the subject.

He married Ruth Simons. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Bill Simons, Lawrence, Kan.; a daughter, Martha Kemper, Upper Darby, Pa.; three stepchildren; 10 grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
