Flory Services

? Services for G. Wayne Flory, 80, rural Baldwin, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Willow Springs Old German Baptist Meeting House in rural Baldwin. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Grove.

Mr. Flory died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 16, 1924, in rural Baldwin, the son of Harve and Elsie Shuler Flory. He lived on the farm where he was born for all of his life.

Mr. Flory owned and operated a dairy farm until he retired in 1991. He served on boards for the Dairy Herd Improvement Assn., Farm Bureau and O’Connell Youth Ranch. He served for 30 years as a founding board member of Rural Water District No. 2 and was a founding member of the Lawrence Flying Club. He drove a school bus for three years after he retired.

He married Lois Mae Kinzie on April 18, 1945, in Sawyer. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include four sons, Stanley and Paul, both of rural Baldwin, and Mike and Steve, both of Lawrence; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the meeting house.

The family suggests memorials to Baldwin Care Center, sent in care of the funeral home.
