Mass of Christian Burial for Teresa Anderson Griffin, 92, Manhattan, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery in Big Springs.
Ms. Griffin died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at Olathe Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 10, 1912, on a farm near Lawrence, the daughter of Michael A. "Alex" and Helen O'Brien Anderson. She earned a bachelor's degree from Kansas University and a master's degree from Kansas State University. She later lived in Paola and then Manhattan.
She was an elementary school teacher in Yarnold, Lecompton, Lawrence and Manhattan. She retired in 1977. She was honored at the 1972 National Teachers' Convention for an elementary economics course that she developed.
She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma sorority, Business and Professional Women, and Seven Dolors Catholic Church's altar society.
She married Paul Griffin in 1944 in Lawrence. He died in 1982.
Survivors include a brother, Leo Anderson, Olathe.
A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, where the family will receive friends until 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
The family suggests memorials to St. Peter's Preservation Society or the charity of the donor's choice, sent in care of the mortuary.
