Miss. St. upends UMKC

Kentucky, Mich. St., UNC each win

? Winsome Frazier kept hitting from the outside, Marcus Campbell dominated the low post, and Gary Ervin was content to keep passing.

For a change, Mississippi State didn’t need to rely on Lawrence Roberts.

Frazier scored a career-high 30 points, leading the 14th-ranked Bulldogs past pesky Missouri-Kansas City, 82-64, Tuesday night, then said the Kangaroos overlooked him and focused on the team’s preseason All-American.

“People try to go double-team, triple-team Lawrence Roberts, and sometimes they forget about the shooter,” Frazier said.

Campbell added a career-best 18 points, and Ervin had a career-high 10 assists for the hot-shooting Bulldogs (5-1), who shook off a sluggish start and won their third straight.

Mississippi State shot nearly 52 percent (32-of-62), and Frazier surpassed his previous career high of 26 points.

Mose Howard led Missouri-Kansas City (0-1) with 15 points.
