IOLA — Services for Leota F. Sebbert, 81, Iola, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Chapel in Iola. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Iola.
Mrs. Sebbert died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at Corpus Christi Medical Center in Texas.
She was born June 7, 1923, in Virgil, the daughter of J.W. and Gladys A. Milner Blohm. She grew up in Iola and graduated from Iola High School. She lived in Humboldt for a short time before returning to Iola. She moved to a care home in Corpus Christi two months ago to be near her son.
Mrs. Sebbert worked for Pet Milk in Iola for a number of years. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Iola.
She married John H. "Jack" Sebbert on May 6, 1944, in Humboldt. He died May 10, 2002.
Survivors include a son, Chuck Sebbert, Corpus Christi; two daughters, Debra Sebbert and Deanna Hoffmeier, both of Lawrence; a brother, Dennis Blohm, Burlington; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.
The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of the chapel, 16 N. Buckeye, Iola 66749.
