Stansell services

Mr. Stansell died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at his home.

He was born on Oct. 6, 1935, in Huntsville, Ark., the son of George Wesley and Rhoda Victoria Bowman Asbury Stansell. He received his general equivalency diploma in Beeville, Texas.

Mr. Stansell served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1957. He worked for DuPont Co. in Tecumseh in maintenance and as maintenance supervisor for 35 years. He also drove a van for the Perry-Lecompton school district for six years. He was a member of Perry Christian Church and Perry American Legion Post 142.

He married Georgia Mae Huble on March 24, 1956, in Beeville, Texas. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, James Jr., Lecompton, and Wayne, Meriden; a daughter, Brenda Bohannan, Lecompton; a brother, Frank, Valley Falls; seven sisters, Alpha Cohoon and Kay Emmerick, both of Lawrence, Jean Langworthy, Silver Lake, Eva Lee Whitecotton, Yampa, Colo., Irma Sweet, Waterville, and Margaret Schuler and Rita Navinsky, both of Nortonville; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. Friday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa, where the family will receive them from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
