Stanco services
Services for Dr. Margaret Haggan Stanco, 86, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Dr. Haggan Stanco died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.
She was born March 25, 1918, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Leland and Lulu Hovey Haggan. She received her bachelor’s and medical degrees from Michigan University.
Dr. Haggan Stanco served as a physician for more than 50 years and worked at Watkins Student Health Center from 1968 to 1983. She worked for Indian Health Service in North Dakota and South Dakota. She was a member of Friends of the Library, Kansas Medical Society, American Medical Assn., Central United Methodist Church and Lawrence Humane Society.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Paules, Newport, Maine, and Susan Masiello, La Mesa, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Lawrence Humane Society or Friends of the Library, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
